Canlex abides by Canadian and international standards with regards to user privacy protection. LexUM and its partners do not collect personal information about users without their consent, and have set up methods to keep personal information confidential.
The situation is different for users who have a Canlex account and are registered on the Get an ID page. For those users only, Canlex gathers the following information:
This information is gathered once, from the online registration form. It is used only to identify users and to contact them for the purpose of the business relationship. LexUM has put in place every means necessary to ensure the confidentiality of this information.
When a user submits a document or a text in Canlex’s interface, no personal data is kept, recorded or compiled. However, file names are kept for maintenance purposes in case of technical difficulties. Apart from file names, LexUM affirms that it keeps no data from the texts or documents submitted by users, whether the data is personal or not, once the texts or documents are processed. Finally, even if there has been a technical delay and a document or text is not deleted immediately after processing, any traces of it in our system or otherwise are destroyed within 24 hours.
Personal data collected by Canlex from registered users is kept secure. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality by integrating the latest technologies in order to ensure the confidentiality of your transactions.
However, because no system offers 100% security, there is always a potential risk while using the Internet for the transmission of personal data. For this reason, LexUM disclaims all responsibility for interception of personal information, except if it has been negligent.
